Daniel Ting-Chong - Design Indaba
Design Indaba has commissioned 6 South African filmmakers to produce short films for the 2011 event.The competition was stiff, and the top filmmakers were chosen based on their creativity, technical prowess, and story-telling ability.Alasdair McCulloch produced a gritty and textured video on Cape Town-based Daniel Ting-Chong, who is a talented graphic designer.Once complete, Alasdair said, “My video team consisted of Barret De Kock (DOP), Hisham Samie (Logistics), Daniel Thackwray (Boom), myself - Alasdair McCulloch (Director/Editor). The video was shot on the Canon 7D DSLR camera with a separate sound recorder.”I found Daniel Ting-Chong to be the most approachable and down-to-earth guy. He not only gave his time, but gave his own creative input. I was quick to learn that Cape Town’s young graphic design scene is alive and kicking!”Sound design and music production by Morné Marais. -

An entry for the Sprint Epic Movie contest. This whole thing was created with the sole purpose of getting Michael Bay to watch it when it undoubtedly reaches the finalist stage.
As filmmakers Michael Bay is the reason we love filmmaking and we created this to hopefully get him to notice it. Somehow it was rejected after we spent an insane amount of time working on it.Sound design and music done by Morné Marais. -
Sweetheart - Official Trailer
The official trailer for a 26 minute short film called “Sweetheart”.A retro-styled black and white genre-bender set against the backdrop of an escalating cold war, ‘Sweetheart’ sees a young housewife alone in a remote farmhouse when her family don’t return from a routine trip to town. She sets off in search of them, but what she finds instead is a landscape seemingly derelict. She must navigate a series of unsettling encounters to find answers in a world that will reveal itself to be a marked alternative to the world we remember.Audio post production done by Morné Marais. -

Abel se Lot
Ella Neser is op verpligte siekverlof na haar noue ontkoming aan Abel Lotz se skalpel. Tussen beradingsessies en harplesse, peins sy oor die foto’s van Abel se vier slagoffers, vasberade om hom te vang voor hy weer moor. Wanneer ‘n inbraak uitloop op ‘n sterfgeval, keer Ella terug om die skuldiges aan die pen te laat ry. Sy is egter nie die enigste een op hulle spoor nie. Is Abel Lotz terug, of is daar ‘n nuwe moordenaar in Doradopark?
